Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies the response. Allendale County Criminal History does not keep or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message as needed to answer it. The communication remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive certain technical details whenever a visitor loads a page:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring site, when one is reported
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Device category and operating system
- Browser type and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand site traffic, including popular pages and common exit points. You can block cookies through browser controls, although doing so may change how parts of the site function.
What We Do With This Data
Information collected during a visit is used only for site operations, analysis, search routing, troubleshooting, and advertising functions such as these:
- Route a search request to the appropriate partner
- Maintain site availability and loading performance
- Diagnose and correct technical problems
- Measure which pages are useful and which need improvement
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Allendale County Criminal History neither maintains nor sells a database of personal criminal records. It provides general directions to records held by local law enforcement, South Carolina courts, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), Criminal Justice Information Services, and the South Carolina Sex Offender Registry. Official access and dissemination are governed by sources such as the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, Title 30, Chapter 4, and Title 23, Chapter 3. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the site's search-box services. A partner's own privacy policy, retention rules, and disclosure practices apply to information entered in its tool. We do not control those terms. Read the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court portals, sheriff and state agency pages, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you follow one, the destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Review that policy before providing personal details.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may nevertheless be available to:
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the site
- Analytics providers that measure use and performance
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards for information in our possession. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, however, so we cannot promise that an unauthorized disclosure or breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with the law that applies where you live. South Carolina's Freedom of Information Act, Title 30, Chapter 4, concerns records of public bodies and does not turn this private site into a government custodian. Title 17, Chapter 22 addresses eligible expungement in official criminal-justice systems, not deletion of ordinary website analytics. You may still ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate
- Delete your personal data
- Honor an available opt-out from certain processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised in the future. Any revision will be posted here with a changed effective date, so visitors should return periodically to review current practices.
